WTF. And no, I wasn't swearing

It stands for Wonderful Thai Friendships. 

WTF is a creative social club tucked in the quiet area of the city, created for people who prefer to avoid Bangkok's massive night clubs. They're known for ABC: Art, Booze and Culture, a kind of a hybrid that has never been done before. 

We were lucky to have attended a photo exhibit & short film viewing entitled Infidel. It's a peak into the lives of US Soldiers assigned in Afghanistan.

Overall, the exhibit communicated a sense of honesty and sadness. It was moving to say the least as it certainly made a dent in my trip.

It's More Fun

For the Dept. of Tourism's latest effort to rebrand the country's campaign, 8 advertising agencies were invited to bid. In the end, BBDO won with a simple campaign that sells an idea instead of a rhyme or an adjective. That idea is fun.

Because of the low budget, the local campaign will rely on social media like blogs, Facebook and Twitter, hence the hashtagged campaign, #1ForFun which is currently trending. The real budget will be spent mostly on an international campaign, and expect many creative ideas to appear abroad soon.

2012 Committment

I realized I created this blog back in January to keep myself sane while I transition to a new career. It has been 12 months and I kind of forgotten about it.

I started losing myself a bit in the process. But this year has been a great year of cleansing, growth, and rewards. I think in this coming year, I am ready to go back to my first love: Photography!

I am committing myself to a balanced, passionate, healthy, and successful 2012. Cheers!

Vincent Fournier's Space Project

Vincent Fournier’s Space Project constructs a new reality in the fantasy of space exploration. Over the past decade and a half, Fournier has captured a wide array of space organizations from around the world: Gagarine Cosmonaut Training Center (Russia), Mars Desert Research Station (USA), Guyana Space Center (French Guiana) Atacama Desert observatories (Chile), International School of Space (Kazakhstan), Kennedy Space Center (USA) and other facilities.



Through the seamless compilation of photographed space, he has created an identity of the space traveler that is simply human. His artist statement reads, “The project came from the experience that we all have whilst looking at the stars during our childhood, when we suddenly realise the infinity of the universe and that we are but a tiny part of it.”

His spacesuit photographs are striking as they take on personalities of their own. Sometimes the suits look lost in a foreign land, like the 2008 Mars Society creatures venturing across desolate terrain. Others seem completely domestic, as in the 2007 Star City space suit photographs, where hues of the space suit blend perfectly into the wallpaper as if it is a fixture to hung on the wall like a clock or a collection of well loved trinkets. Even Fournier’s machines look like sleeping giants ready to awaken, beep, gurgle and then turn their gaze to sky.
